Ana received an M.S. in Physical Chemistry from University of Belgrade, Serbia and a Ph. D. in Physical Chemistry and Surface Science under the supervision of John T. Yates, Jr. at University of Virginia. Her doctoral research focused on electron- hole recombination rates in TiO2 powders, which control the efficiency of TiO2-based solar driven technologies: catalysis and PV cells. Ana was a postdoctoral researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, Maryland. At NIST, she worked with Andrei Kolmakov on developing ambient pressure scanning electron microscopy to image charge transport in semiconductor nanowires.

In the Friend group, Ana’s work involves *in situ* imaging of gas-solid interactions and corresponding dynamical changes of catalysts under reaction conditions by transmission electron microscope (TEM) that employs an *in situ* TEM Gas & Heating holder.
