Lars Mohrhusen obtained his PhD at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, Germany under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Katharina Al-Shamery. Starting from preparation and characterization of colloidal noble metal nanomaterials during his BSc and MSc work, he explored the surface (photo-)chemistry of bifunctional rutile TiO2-based model catalysts in his doctoral studies with special consideration of the impact of defects such as Ti3+ interstitials or oxygen vacancies.
Since September 2021, Mohrhusen is a postdoctoral fellow of the Friend and Madix lab working on bimetallic catalysts using surface science methods such as STM.
