Nare studied Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley where she used femtosecond laser spectroscopy and high harmonic generation to study the photoelectron spectra of metalloporphyrins. As a graduate student in the Friend lab, Nare works on the development of novel nanoporous alloy materials as catalysts for energy-efficient chemical production. Her current projects focus on the synthesis of nanoporous gold-palladium shells and studying the activity of copper based catalysts.
