Nat obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2019 after receiving his B.S. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 2014. His Ph.D. research in Dr. George Huber’s group focused on developing and understanding novel processes for the catalytic conversion of biomass-derived platform molecules such as ethanol into distillate-range fuel molecules. Specific efforts focused on the development of a reaction kinetics model describing alcohol oligomerization as well as the creation of a two-step process to convert ethanol to diesel ethers. Currently he is in Dr. Maria Flytzani-Stephanopoulos’s group investigating single atom alloys for use in selective hydrogenation reactions.
